Cinsaut

Cinsaut is a Mediterranean red grape long associated with southern France, as well as parts of North Africa and increasingly the modern New World. It is a vigorous, drought-tolerant vine that produces large, loose clusters of thin-skinned berries, making it well suited to warm, dry climates where it ripens early and reliably. The variety thrives in well-drained, sun-exposed sites and performs best when yields are moderated to enhance concentration. Cinsaut wines are typically pale to medium ruby in color with naturally low to moderate tannins, fresh acidity, and fragrant notes of red fruit, florals, and spice. Styles range from bright, supple reds to delicately perfumed rosés and blended wines that add lift and aromatic nuance.
