Moraiolo

Moraiolo olives come from the Moraiolo tree, one of Italy’s most esteemed traditional cultivars, especially renowned throughout Umbria and Tuscany. The tree is compact and hardy, well adapted to rocky soils and hilly terrain, and is valued for its resilience and consistent productivity. Though the olives themselves are small, they produce an exceptionally robust, aromatic oil known for its intense fruity character, pronounced pepperiness, and distinctive notes of herbs and artichoke. Moraiolo trees are only partially self-fertile and benefit from cross-pollination—with Frantoio, Leccino, and Pendolino commonly used to improve fruit set and yield.
