Koroneiki

Koroneiki olives come from the Koroneiki tree, one of Greece’s most prized and ancient olive cultivars, celebrated for its exceptional oil quality and remarkable resilience. The tree is small to medium in size with a dense, bushy canopy and is particularly well adapted to hot, dry climates and rocky Mediterranean soils. Although Koroneiki olives are tiny, they produce a highly aromatic, premium extra-virgin olive oil known for its vibrant fruitiness, notes of fresh herbs and green banana, and a characteristic peppery finish. The Koroneiki tree is considered partially self-fertile, so while it can fruit on its own, cross-pollinators such as Arbequina, Arbosana, or Mastoidis can help improve yield in some orchards. Renowned for both its hardiness and the exceptional quality of its oil, Koroneiki remains a cornerstone of traditional Greek olive cultivation.
