Sauvignon Blanc is a highly aromatic white grape originating in the Loire Valley and now widely planted in cool to moderate climates across the world, including Bordeaux, New Zealand, Chile, and California. The vine shows moderate to high vigor, producing medium-sized berries in loose to moderately compact clusters, and requires careful canopy management to balance vegetative growth with ripeness and aromatic precision. It thrives in well-drained, often gravelly, flinty, or limestone-rich soils and performs best in sites with ample sunlight and cooling influences—whether continental, maritime, or coastal—which help preserve its naturally high acidity and varietal character.
